About Us

Lexicon Systems, Inc. is a software development and consulting firm with offices in Boston, Massachusetts.  We were founded in 1999 by independent consultant Dan Hermes.  Mr. Hermes offers an extensive background in Information Systems, with over twenty years experience as a project leader, architect, and developer. Mr. Hermes is also an internationally recognized audiovisual artist, curator, composer, and founder of Dan Hermes Fine Art and the Hermes Orchestra. Specializing in client/server and Internet software, he is adept at architecture, development, technology consultation, and staffing recommendations for software life cycle development. He has served on the faculty of the Management Information Systems Department at Northeastern University. Mr. Hermes has demonstrated expertise in mission-critical business applications, object-oriented design, database design, high-volume transaction processing, and multi-tiered, cross-platform software design and development. Leaders in business systems and Internet technology call on him to bring their endeavors to success and profitability. More about Dan Hermes.

Lexicon Systems is a small firm. Dan does the lion's share of the work. Projects occasionally require the assembling of a larger team of designers, developers, analysts, and PMs. We locate this talent in Lexicon's large network of consulting colleagues and partner firms.

"Dot-coms come and go, but the demand for top-quality tech talent remains.  The right independent consultant can meet that demand.  I founded Lexicon Systems to provide reliable, flexible, and up-to-date software architecture and development services to software vendors and IT organizations nationally.  Companies which opt for Lexicon Systems add a vital element to their 'virtual team'.  I look forward to discussing your company's needs with you."
